Anima Nocturna is the vehicle for photographer and multi-media artist Carlos Melgoza.

Within this enclosure the exploration of magico-philosophical themes via the medium of photography are the focus.

In this sense, as William Kiesel writes in the foreword to the Ecstatic Ordeal exhibition catalogue, “Using the camera to document these phenomena, Melgoza fulfills the principal aim of the magical journal. Like leaves from the Akashic Record, the images allow a view into the visual spectra created and experienced in transcendental praxis.”

To See brings ecstasy and ordeal; it is our honor and responsibility to pirouette along the sword’s edge and laugh at the killing joke, to the gate of all possibility.
